countdown to golden globe: pick for best actress in tv drama series

yes, i'm excited about golden globe, therefore i'm going to do a countdown starting today of who's gonna take home the trophy this yr. let's start with tv (cause it's easier to review it) then we can move on to movies..

BEST ACTRESS, TV DRAMA
Glenn Close, Damages
Julianna Margulies, The Good Wife
January Jones, Mad Men
Anna Paquin, True Blood
Kyra Sedgwick, The Closer

let's start with..
#1 Glenn Close, Damages
Chances of winning: Very High

Glenn Close is probably one of the most memorable performers in TV history, ever, or maybe in the whole Hollywood industry. Taking a role of Patty Hewes in Damages, the savvy, hard-nosed, manipulative attorney that will take you down, no matter what happened. Honestly, you can't expect a better performance to be delivered since she has played her role flawlessly by combining beauty, edginess, intelligence, and devious state of minds into another level. Chances are Glenn Close is a favorite to win after her two consecutive winning in the Emmy's. However, as we all know, sometimes winning so much possibly means no more. So we'll just have to wait and see, shall we? If it were up to me, I'd favor Close to win, cause nobody intimidates me better than her!

#2 Julianna Margulies, The Good Wife
Chances of winning: Low

Winning for Margulies is fairly tough. As much as I like seeing an underdog to win in here, Margulies is about to face a blazing competition from Close or Paquin. Her performance isn't that well-known. She's noteworthy but not enough to take down her tough competitors. Harshly, we can say she is not that memorable. Maybe it'll take a few years for her to make herself existed in our eyes?

#3 January Jones, Mad Men
Chances of winning: Moderate

First I'm about to say that just because your show got so many nominations, you'll win the price. However, I have to say that Jones' nomination is well-deserved but not well-deserved enough to win one of those Gold statue. What I'm saying is that Jones brings more sensuous and sultry character that most of us know enough won't give her the path to win. We love to watch her unfortunately Jones needs to work extra harder to convince us that she's more than just a pretty face.

#4 Anna Paquin, True Blood
Chances of winning: High

Let me remind you the fact that Paquin is a last year winner which gives her a greater chance to win this year. However, I believe this year is not Sookie Stackhouse's year because like we all damn know that True Blood focuses more on Eric this year. So I'm sorry Anna you have to give your trophy to other, but who knows? maybe we are in vampire madness enough to hand her another one! At least, if she didn't win, she would go home with her equally hot vampire fiance?

#5 Kyra Sedgwick, The Closer
Chances of winning: Moderate

Well, when we talk about her, we see a redneck savvy, clumsy, yet brilliant workaholic. Bottomline is Kyra Sedgwick is a Hollywood darlin. However, this year I doubt that she'll repeat a winning like 2 years before. The casts aren't just strong enough to carry on her backdrop story. Don't get me wrong, Sedgwick is an amazing actress but her supporter, not so much! She'll fade into the background with the power of Glenn Close, the charming Anna Paquin, or even the sultriness of January Jones. Chances are she has to wait a little bit longer to win.

So what about u? what's your prediction?

xoxo,

C
