my take on 2010 MET Gala Ball

Yes, the creme de la creme of fashion event has just passed and here we are, observing very thoroughly with the beautiful dresses and of course, fashion-recognized figures :D

Here are few of the most traffic stopping dresses:

1. Eva Longaria in
Marchesa

I hate to point out the fact that such a beautiful dress can end up so wrong in such a beautiful girl too! Eva and dress is not a perfect team because the color of the dress is clearly not blending well enough with Eva's skin tone and her make up is ugh, adds up 10 years to her looks!

#2 Carey Mulligan in
Miu Miu

It's a very simple dress to begin with, oh well, Mulligan in her 12-year-old looks surely fail to grow up in this Gala. I mean, she looks 12 don't you think? It's the dress that you wear to meet your sister or cousin, not for a Gala, hello?

#3 Marion Cottilard in
Dior

I'm in complete nightmare just looking the combination between Cottilard and her dress. What's wrong with the look? Oh let's start with the very old-looking make up and the hair do doesn't help too! Finally, the very conventional detail in the dress doesn't ease up the pain too!

#4 Thandie Newton

A very nice example to combine skin color with dress color :) I think Ms. Newton got this one right! I mean, it's just so pretty! Oh you know, the purple violet color is so blooming, just like the spring! What else? Great hair do and make up too! :)

#5 Anne Hathaway in
Valentino

Absolutely ravishing in that dress! Hathway never look prettier than this! The dress is sparkly, the hair do is youth looking, and her make up does compliment her princess aura! What can I say, once a princess, always a princess!

#6 Jennifer Lopez in
Zuhair Murad

One of my favorite for the night! J-Lo went for it all with her festive and attention grabbing dress. It's a perfect looks for the gala! :) Who's the designer anyway? He can be the next big thing you know!

#7 Blake Lively in
Marchesa

Fashion goes terribly wrong? Oh dear Blake, I would love if you have a sincerity to cover up your assets with something. Plus, dressing up less doesn't mean you'll get more attention, well probably yes, but not in a very good way! And yea, stop tanning that much, you look awful!

#8 Kristen Bell in
DVF

Very unique looking dress? It does look like a shred of newspaper put together into a dress! However, as you look more into it, you find it pretty edgy and of course, innovative! :)
Adding the fact that Bell looks amazing in it does give more compliment to the dress!

#9 Kristen Stewart in
Chanel

I'm not gonna start a fact that it's Chanel or it is Ms. Stewart itself. Cause tonight, these two are just wrong! God! I don't know but I'm not feeling the Sophia Loren/Bette Davis' vibe that the look is giving me! Just a no-no!

#10 Gisele Bundchen in Alexander Wang

This couple is stunning but as for Gisele, it's not in a very good way! Well, it's indeed very risque and unique. However, I forget the mentioning of the Gala! Yes, Gisele, dress to the occasion!

#11 Taylor Swift in
Ralph Lauren

As usual, Ms. Swift never fail to impress the crowd! However, the more you see the white long gown, the more you feel like asking her, "Are you living in the 19th century of the 21st?"

#12 Eva Mendes in
Dolce&Gabanna

Two comments for the looks: the dress is pretty but doesn't fit Mendes perfectly, I mean really, really!

#13 Sienna Miler in
Emilio Pucci

A very smooth "we're on again" red carpet debut from Jude and Sienna! Sienna looks so ravishing in her dress. Yes, some of you said it's skanky, but I'm lovin the dress! Say no more, one of the best dressed nominee!

#14 Lily Collins in
Chanel

America's rising star, Lily Collins looked absolutely gorgeous in the beige/greenish color dress! The hair do is so pretty too! Of course, she maintained herself with grace and poised attitude to carry on the dress!

#15 Sarah Jessica Parker in
Halston

The dress is a reminder that SATC 2 is right around the corner! Sparkle and very dashing, very SJP! What can I say? This dress will grab headlines and turn heads all over again! :)

#16 Emma Watson in
Burberry

Best dressed pick for the night! The dress is a perfection, a Greek Goddess resemblance! The hair do, the make up, Emma, you rock the night!

#17 Anna Wintour in
Chanel

You know what, I've always imagined her wearing the dress and finally! Yeaaa, it speaks like she's the queen of the night, and indeed she is!

#18 Diane Kruger in
Calvin Klein

My eyes are playing tricks on me! This is very Ashley Olsen circa 2009! Sorry, Kruger, you're not going home with best dressed! :(

So, what do you think about this year GALA? Which dress grabs your heart?

xoxo,

C
